The Old and The New

Last Week:
Spent time with extended family...nice.
Purchased tickets to go to Utah.
Enjoyed a light spattering of rain today - first of the season!
Completed training to volunteer at the animal shelter! Lots of fun!!

Upcoming Week:
The week is empty - let's not confuse it with the possibility of quiet. No, not true, BUT nothing out of the ordinary. Typical driving here, there, and everywhere!

Hobbies

I want to resurrect some of my hobbies and my future dreams...everything has been put on hiatus since Ace came along last October. I've never pretended to be one of those moms that can handle fifty things at once and will suck it up and take their kids everywhere with them. No, I'm not one of those. I hole up at home and focus on surviving the new chaos on a sleep deprived lifestyle.
Now that my babe is almost a year old, it's time to carve out some time for myself, especially since my hubby is dying to play music again. The problem is, I've only dabbled in scrapbooking the past couple years - I used to know everything about everything, and now I'm so far behind. Their are tools and "stuff" that I just have no idea what they are and what they do. I'm so behind the learning curve, it's not even funny.
So, what to do, what to do...spend a butt load of money - buy the Cricut Imagine, try to attend a swarm in Utah (last time I was in Utah was for a CKU many many years ago). What's a swarm? No idea. what goes on? No idea. But, what better way to relearn everything....just jump in and give it a go!

No Cake Slice or TWD

All the ingredients are sitting in my kitchen, but with hubby's birthday and an last week's TWD cake combined with my morning sickness - there's no way on this planet I am baking anything right now.  I can't even cook dinner because just being around food makes me queasy.  Hopefully by next time I'll be back to normal.

My New Best Friends

I'm none to pleased to introduce my new best friends: Queasy and Sleepy.  Both are a bit on the needy side, always standing next to me, never giving me much of a chance to breathe.  I mean, they seem to be a bit suffocating, and for as much as I love meeting new people, I've had my share of these two overbearing companions.  With them around, I don't get the chance to do my normal things.  For one, it's a battle to just climb out of bed as Sleepy is very comfortable to snuggle with, much to the chagrin of my poor neglected husband.  For another, Queasy is a very smooth talker, constantly keeping me out of the kitchen, causing a serious dent in the bank account as we must leave the house to forage for food. The neglected husband I mentioned, well he's actually had to succumb to buying sweets at ::gasp:: the grocery store...oh my!

I really can't wait until our ever persistent house guests get bored and move on to greener pastures.
